The RDK supports the Solaris 10 Operating System (OS) and will also support Wind River’s platform for Network Equipment, Carrier Grade Linux (CGL), available in early 2009.
Zones provide a new isolation primitive for the Solaris OS, which is secure, flexible, scalable and lightweight: virtualized OS services which look like different Solaris instances. Together with the existing Solaris Resource management framework, Solaris Zones forms the basis of Solaris Containers.
The OpenVZ project is an open source community project supported byand is intended to provide access to the code and ultimately for the open source community to test, develop and further the OS virtualization effort. It is also a proving ground for new technology that may evolve into the Parallels Virtuozzo Containers product offering. We encourage the community to access, use, develop and comment on the software and references on this site.
